St Joseph's School Murray Bridge expanded to Reception to Year 8 in 2022 and will expand to Year 9 in 2023.
Work was completed in February 2022 on our wonderful $6.2 million middle school building on the Mannum Road side of the school, between its existing junior classrooms and performing arts centre.
The Reception to Year 9 Education Plan for St Joseph's School explores how the school will be a Place of Learning, Creating, Innovating and Reimaging through Engaged Learners, Relationship Builders, Empowered Creators and Inquisitive Thinkers. The strategic goal of this Education Plan is to increase student achievement and growth in all areas so that we build a community of learners with opportunities, choices and the agency to build strong communities. The school's educational programs, pedagogical practices, organisation, structures and the physical environments will reflect these guiding principles.
The design of the building is uniquely and intentionally linked to our town of Murray Bridge and some of its pre-existing architecture, but with an ultra modern look. The building caters for the curriculum and elective offerings that will be in place for Year 7-9 from 2022 and 2023. The Architects will use glass extensively and the building will have a very open, community feel with many multipurpose spaces that can be easily configured for a wide range of learning activities.
