Dear parents, carers, teachers, and students,

We hope you had a restful holiday and stayed warm. Our students have returned enthusiastically and are already experiencing great learning opportunities. The Year 4s have also been on an overnight camp, which they loved.

Term Three is an important time for our new Mid-term enrolments and our transition to school program, Joey’s, which provides a chance for new and current families to begin the transition to our school. We are also in the process of preparing for new enrolments in the upcoming year, 2025.

We’re excited about the term ahead and all the wonderful activities planned!

Get Ready for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games!

Excitement is building for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, one of the biggest events ever held in France! From July 26 to August 11, 2024, athletes worldwide will compete in 19 days of thrilling sports action.

A total of 10,500 athletes will go for the gold in 329 events across 35 different sports. Our very own Australia is expected to send a strong team of 460-480 athletes, ready to make us proud!

Paris will join London as the only city to have hosted the Olympics three times, having previously done so in 1900 and 1924. Next week, the students and staff are invited to get into the theme of celebrating this event by dressing in green and gold and donating a gold coin to a local sporting organisation. Let’s cheer on our athletes and get ready for an unforgettable Olympic Games!

St. Joseph’s School News: Living Learning Leading Survey – Week 2

Upcoming Survey Participation

Next week, St. Joseph’s School will roll out the Living Learning Leading Survey to all parents, students, and staff. This initiative is part of a broader effort across all Catholic Education System schools within the diocese. Developed by Catholic Education SA, these surveys are crucial tools for evaluating our school's progress and effectiveness according to the principles outlined in our guiding framework.

Purpose of the Survey

The data gathered from these surveys will play a key role in our school's self-assessment process, particularly in four main areas:

• Catholic Identity

• Curriculum and Co-constructed Learning and Assessment Design

• Student Agency, Identity, Learning, and Leadership

• Community Engagement

By analysing the feedback, we can align our improvement strategies more effectively with the needs and perceptions of our school community.

Key Information

• Survey Duration: It will take approximately 3-5 minutes to complete.

• Significance: This is a valuable chance for parents and caregivers to share their experiences and insights about the school.

• Confidentiality: Individual responses are anonymous. The results will be compiled into collective graphs representing all parent and caregiver feedback.

• Multiple Children: If you have more than one child enrolled, please base your responses on your experience with your eldest child at the school.

Staying Connected with Teachers

Our staff is excited for a fantastic term ahead, focusing on both learning and your child's well-being. We value open and respectful communication and are dedicated to partnering with families.

Communication Tools:

• Seesaw App: Use this app for regular updates on classroom activities and events.

• School Newsletter: Distributed online and via email link in Weeks 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9, this newsletter provides important information from school leadership. Please visit the front office if you need help setting up these apps or want a printed copy.

Important Notes:

• During teaching hours or supervision duties, teachers cannot engage in in-depth conversations or check emails and Seesaw messages.

• For urgent matters, please get in touch with the office so they can relay messages promptly. Alternatively, you can schedule an appointment for face-to-face discussions.

Response Time:

• Staff will respond to emails/seesaw app and messages within 48 hours during business hours. Please note that responses will not be made after hours or on weekends.
